Be a part of the SPRING SHOW’s
2nd Annual BIKER POETRY Contest
This event is cancelled for 2021
and will take place
at the 2022 Spring Motorcycle Show
We know you have motorcycling in your heart and it pulses through your veins. Put your passion into words in our 2nd annual Toronto International Biker Poetry Contest. Selected entrants will be invited to read their poetry live, on stage at the 2022 Spring Motorcycle Show at the Toronto International Centre.
If you’ve got a poem to share with fellow riders, we invite you to submit it in one of our 2 author categories; Biker Men, and Biker Ladies. Our selection committee will choose the top 5 in each category and those authors will be invited to the SPRING SHOW, as our guest, to recite their poem on stage. One winner in each category will be chosen by a judging panel and each will win a cash prize plus their winning poem will be posted to the SPRING SHOW’s web-site along with the author’s photo.
Subject matter must relate to motorcycling in some way – Your love of motorcycles and riding them, people, family, the mechanics of it, clubs, rallies, motorcycle travel & adventure, etc. And no, your poem does not have to rhyme.
Each person may submit up to 3 poems. As this is a family Show we ask that no obscene words be used. Mild language is permitted for artistic impact but we may ask you to edit anything we deem unsuitable for public recitation. You may also submit a photo of yourself, either a head shot or a shot of you with your motorcycle. This may be used in advance media promotions by us, and all finalists will be required to supply a photo if they haven’t already done so.
Submit your entries to: email@example.com
Your poem can be in the body of your email or attached as a document, and
• Tell us which category you are entering
• Include a photo of yourself (optional – see terms and conditions)
• Include your full name in the email or on the document if attaching
• Tell us you agree to the terms and conditions posted on this site

Thanks for participating!
It’s winter and we can’t be riding so we might as well be writing!
Get your pens out and find your inner poet.
to 2019's winners!
Klaus Kaak was our Winner of the Biker Men Category with his winning poem
by Klaus Kaak
Winter is defeated
Work on steeds completed
Juices flow, in the trees and bees
Winter broken, on his knees!
Equinox, oh equinox!
Please heat up our engine blocks!
The sun will use her magic wand
And change to green the promised land!
Carbs are tickled, oil is fresh,
Spotless clean, the filter mesh,
A Cardinal is making noise,
I kick the starter with good poise ,
If silence follows, what is wrong?
Is my leg still youthful strong?
Keep the faith, on 2nd kick,
Proper sweet spot did the trick!
That old iron, obsolete,
Transformed my joy, to be complete!
And fired up, at minus 3,
A Rite of Spring, for you and me
Karen Stephenson was our Winner in the Biker Ladies Category with her
winning poem “The Brush”.
by Karen Stephenson
Over the winter there was no rush,
But come the spring I'll need a brush.
My bike was sleeping while it snowed,
I could not ride it, so I sewed.
My leather jacket looks so cool,
With patches sewn with needle and spool.
I check the bike, it seems okay,
I’m looking forward to the day.
My love affair with gas and gears,
Is life complete for all these years.
I cannot wait to speed, I dare,
Then brush the knots out of my hair.
Winning poems were selected by the judging panel of Gwen Roberts from
Motorcycle Mojo Magazine; U.S. Highway Poet, J. Barrett Wolf; and Kelsey
Knight, special guest and Poem of the Moment composer.
Poem of the Moment
2019 Special guest Kelsey Knight will be at the Show composing personalised poems...
Tell her a little about yourself and she'll whip up a few lines of verse,
just for you! And the coolest part? She types on a 1930 manual
Royal typewriter! Your poem will be as unique as you are!
